Insurgent: How do different Characters respond to the Conflict
The characters in Insurgent respond to the conflict very differently. For example, Tris and Tobias respond by running headfirst into it, they don't think about the consequences much. That's how I would do it, it helps save you from becoming too nervous, just like Tris's brother Caleb. He always is scared and he refuses to cooperate at first. Wow. He wouldn't even risk his life to save the world from the Erudite. One life isn't as important as many.

Insurgent: Conversation with a Character
In Insurgent, Tobias and Tris leave with two others to eavesdrop on a meeting between Max, a bad guy, and Jack Kang, the Candor leader. They hear how Jeanine, the main villian, is not at the meeting and is telling Max what to say and do to Jack. They search for her, but one of their soldiers, Lynn shot Max and they were discovered. They weren't able to capture Jeanine, and Lynn's sister, Shauna was shot during the battle. They go back to the Candor compound and execute Eric. All of the Dauntless then vote for new leaders, and they return to the Dauntless compound. Jeanine seems unstoppable and even if the war ends, will the Erudite still be able to control the population again?
I decided to have a conversation with Tris. I would ask her why she can't get along with everyone. She is very stubborn and rarely sways from her beliefs and is very strong. If I asked her some questions like about the Dauntless beliefs, she would defend her beliefs very strongly and would never give in to another cause.

connections
In Insurgent, they have arrived in the Candor compound with a group of survivors not under the attack simulation. Not trusting the newcomers, they put Tris and Tobias under a truth serum and now know Tobias's big secret (sorry can't tell). They also find out that he regrets moving to Dauntless, but on the other hand, Tris feels she belongs there and she feels she wasn't right for Abnegation. They are ambushed by traitor Dauntless and Eric and they attempt to capture all of the Divergents they can since they are immune to the simulation. They defeat the attack and capture Eric, but he doesn't have the information they need, will they figure out the plan for the simulation?
A text to self connection with Insurgent is when the traitor Dauntless attack the survivors. When people that I trust believe in something and think it is right, for example my parents, I tend to believe that that is also the right idea and it can affect the way I think about a situation.
A text to text connection is Insurgent and Hunger Games. When the Capitol holds the Hunger Games, they believe that is it the correct way to prevent rebellions, but the Districts know that the Capitol is wrong. This is how the traitor Dauntless and Eric now think about taking over the factions.
A text to world connection could be to wars in the Middle East. Some wars over there are fought because of differences in religious beliefs. They believe that their religion is the correct religion and they hate the other believers of other religions.
